Swedish design brand Zilenzio is an expert in improving work environments. For 20 years, the brand has developed high-quality and thoughtfully designed solutions that reduce both noise and visual distractions. One of Zilenzio’s most acclaimed collections is Focus, created in collaboration with multi-award winning Swedish design studio Note. This spring, the Focus family is extended with Focus Spaces – a new collection of seating and tables that promote both privacy and interaction. Together, Zilenzio and Note continue shaping the future of work environments

The collaboration between Zilenzio and Note started back in 2016, when Note designed the first Focus products – a collection of innovative room dividers in different sizes and colours. These ranged from sleek, rollable versions that fit easily into a backpack, to larger tabletop and floor models that can transform an entire workstation.

The Focus series was developed at a time when studies showed that many employees lacked private space, which inhibited both creativity and productivity. This challenge is still relevant, but today’s work environments have changed and our needs are shifting faster than ever, since the way we work is constantly evolving.

From individual compartmentalisation to shared spaces
In response to these changes, Zilenzio and Note have now taken the next step and developed a new generation of Focus products. This time, the aim is not only to promote individual privacy, but rather to create spatial harmony for interaction and collaboration.

Focus Spaces is an innovative room-in-room solution that builds on the Focus family. The collection consists of 17 seating modules, two different table types – one rectangular and one square – and an optional armrest. Focus Spaces can be ordered in ready-made setups. To suit different aesthetic expressions and needs, the products can be upholstered in 26 different fabrics and hundreds of colours, and it is possible to combine different fabrics and colours on the inside and outside.

”The Focus range was initially developed to provide people with personal privacy in open-plan offices and spaces. Now it has evolved to balance individual reflection with inspiring interaction and connection,” says Jenny Helldén, co-founder of Zilenzio, and continues:

”Focus Spaces create rooms where relationships are strengthened and ideas flow. It’s a place for both concentration and creative interaction – an inviting embrace where you can relax, recharge your batteries and gain new perspectives. It can be a quiet hideaway when you need to focus or a dynamic meeting place where innovation is born.”

A design that invites conversation and community
The collaboration between Zilenzio and Note is one of Note’s longest partnerships. The first Focus products were among the very first designed by the design studio.

”Our vision for Focus Spaces has been to create natural places for communication and spontaneous meetings. Instead of isolating oneself in closed rooms, Focus Spaces offer a more open, yet cosy, spatiality for conversation and community,” says Kristoffer Fagerström, Product Designer and partner at Note, and elaborates:

”The soft, inviting seating modules are a contrast to the often hard and rigid office furniture. There are already so many products on the market aimed at solely increasing efficiency. We believe workplaces will be more harmonious and inspiring if people can interact in a more relaxed and inviting environment. It’s not just about productivity – it’s about creating a working day filled with wellbeing and joy. Focus Spaces is a bit like a campfire – a natural gathering place where conversations flow and ideas take shape.

With Focus Spaces, Zilenzio and Note are taking another step towards redefining the workplace of the future – where the balance between focus and interaction will be the key to both wellbeing and success.

A new typology for future work environments
Kristoffer Fagerström explains that Note wanted to create a new typology – a harmonious hybrid between the comfort of the home and the functionality of the office. The result is a range of products that not only fulfil practical needs, but also create a welcoming, inspiring and comfortable atmosphere. Aesthetics and function come together in a design that makes people feel better, more creative and ultimately contributes to a more positive work culture.

The new Focus system offers nearly unlimited possibilities for creating flexible and informal meeting spaces. The soft, warm and generous design transforms any workplace into an inviting and functional environment where people thrive and interact. With its vertical lines and flowing shapes, the series balances a timeless elegance with a modern and dynamic feel.

”The design expression is based on our belief that work environments should be more than just functional – they should also create calm and harmony, both sonically and visually. The vertical lines provide a rhythm that makes the shape easy on the eye, contributing to a relaxing atmosphere,” says Max Stjerna, Product Designer at Note.

With this new generation of Focus products, Zilenzio and Note have created a spatial solution that promotes both focused work and meaningful meetings – a work environment where people can feel safe, inspired and creative every day.

The Focus Spaces products are available from week 13, 2025, through several retailers. Focus is a registered EU and Norwegian Trademark.
