During this year’s 3 Days of Design, Note Design Studio presents its most extensive presence in Copenhagen to date, bringing together product launches, exhibitions, and collaborations across furniture, lighting, ceramics, and spatial design.
Since opening its Copenhagen studio in 2024, Note has strengthened its presence on the Danish design scene through a growing network of international collaborations. This year, Note presents new projects with Lammhults, Resident, &Tradition, Vibia, and Mutina, with highlights such as Big Bau for Lammhults, the Avant Lounge Chair for Resident, and an expansion of the Alima collection for &Tradition. It also features CENTER, a lighting exhibition for Vibia at Helligåndshuset, and Mutina c/o Note at the studio’s Copenhagen space, presenting a new modular ceramic brick collection designed for Mutina.
Together, the projects reflect the breadth of Note’s multidisciplinary practice across product design, interior architecture, material innovation, and exhibition design.
LAMMHULTS
Big Bau
Big Bau builds on the original Bau for Lammhults, first designed by Note Design Studio as a response to the rigidity of conventional modular seating in offices and public spaces. The ambition was to create something lower, softer and more expressive, an alternative that moves between functional furniture and a more informal, welcoming presence.
The new version develops this idea further through deeper proportions and an increased sense of softness, shifting the way the seating is experienced in space. Rooted in a residential sensibility yet developed for the demands of contract and hospitality environments, Big Bau brings together comfort, durability and graphic clarity in a system designed for long-term use and evolving contexts.
RESIDENT
Avant Lounge Chair
Avant Lounge Chair by Resident is defined by a deliberate tension between proportion and presence. Conceived by Note Design Studio, the design reconsiders the conventions of club seating, using scale and exaggeration to explore how far expression can be pushed within a single object without compromising clarity.
Generous armrests and a sculptural swivel base dissolve the boundary between object and space, subtly shifting the chair’s character as it is approached from different angles. Positioned between softness and structure, Avant is designed to feel as relaxed as it appears expressive, anchoring a room while remaining distinctly approachable and functional.
&TRADITION
Alima shelf
Alima for &Tradition was originally designed by Note Design Studio as a response to the fluid and often unpredictable nature of studio life. An adaptable trolley for carrying, storing and organising without imposing order on the space itself. Over time, its use has expanded far beyond the studio context, becoming part of everyday domestic environments.
This new extension of the collection introduces five additional pieces, including a smaller trolley, a side table and three shelving units. Each is developed around the same idea: storage as a framing device for personal objects rather than a system of control. A subtly raised edge, carried over from the original design, conceals construction details and softens the transition between materials, where chrome frames meet oak or walnut in a consistent architectural logic.
VIBIA
Exhibition CENTER
CENTER by Vibia is conceived as an immersive exhibition environment rather than a conventional display space. Situated in the heart of the city yet deliberately detached from its rhythm, the installation explores the experiential qualities of light and atmosphere.
At its centre, a large table anchors the space, creating a natural point of gathering and pause. Around it, Vibia’s lighting is presented as a cohesive field of contrast, scale and presence. An installation designed to be experienced slowly, rather than simply observed.
MUTINA
Mutina c/o Note
Mutina c/o Note brings Mutina’s ceramic practice into the heart of Note Design Studio’s Copenhagen space, creating an exhibition where the studio environment is deliberately pared back to allow the material to take centre stage.
At its core is a new modular ceramic system designed by Note for Mutina, developed from the brick as a starting point and extended into a spatial element. Stacked, rotated and repeated, the components form permeable structures that define space without enclosing it. Made from extruded terracotta, each piece retains a tactile, imperfect quality that reflects its production process, resulting in a spatial installation that balances Swedish design thinking with Italian ceramic craftsmanship.
