Made in Sweden is a collaboration project and exhibition curated by NK Inredning, showcasing the strength of Swedish design with a focus on sustainability, high-quality materials, and local production. During Stockholm Design Week, Made in Sweden will be displayed in NK’s windows, featuring design objects from Enkei, Hanna Hansdotter, Sekt, and Madelen Möllard.

”The Made in Sweden project is particularly close to my heart. It’s fantastic that we continue to highlight and celebrate Swedish designers and brands that focus on sustainable and long-term production in Sweden. Our ambition is to inspire Swedish producers to think more innovative, develop energy- and resource-efficient manufacturing methods, and perhaps most importantly, to help consumers make conscious choices that benefit us all. Both local production and sustainable material choices are crucial factors for the future”, says Kadi Harjak,CEO and founder of NK Inredning and initiator of the Made in Sweden project.

On Monday, February 3rd, during Stockholm Design Week, Kadi Harjak presented Made in Sweden, which will be on display from February 3rd to March 2nd. Additionally, this year’s winner of the Together Scholarship was announced, along with the 2025 Together project, which is this year in collaboration with the prestigious Swedish rug manufacturer Kasthall.

Brands participating in this year’s Made in Sweden exhibition:

Enkei
The award-winning design studio Enkei was founded in 2024 and is based on the idea of transforming waste into design objects that daily remind people of their choices and responsibility for the future.

Reminder (001): The table lamp from the Reminder series, Enkei’s first design, has now been updated with a lampshade in the brand’s signature orange color. The lamp’s modular design offers flexibility and a range of variations. Two new sizes – Petite and Tall – make the series even more adaptable to different spaces, while the new lamps maintain the original’s geometric form and weight.

Reminder (002): A pendant lamp inspired by the sea. The lamp is built with a semicircle of recycled sailcloth that reflects and spreads the light like a pearl in an open shell.

Reminder (003): These lanterns are inspired by the Japanese SANAA museum, and are made of stacked boxes in varying proportions around a central core. The asymmetrical design invites playfulness and experimentation. The lanterns are sold in sets of 1, 3, or 5 to encourage creativity in their arrangement.

All items are handmade in Scandinavia using Enkei’s own material, Receramix™, made from ceramic waste. Components such as recycled steel wires, ventilation pipes, fossil-free steel, and textiles are transformed from waste into design, proving that broken things can become beautiful.

The 001 series is designed by Asca Studio, while the 002 pendant lamp and 003 lanterns are created by Enkei’s designer Louise Bahrton.

Hanna Hansdotter
Swedish artist Hanna Hansdotter has received well-deserved attention for her innovative glass designs since her graduation exhibition at Konstfack in 2017. Her work blends traditional glassblowing with a modern aesthetic. By blowing glass into specially cast iron molds, she creates sculptures with sensual and organic forms that break the conventions of glassblowing. Her often silver-plated works reflect their surroundings through reflections and distortions, enhancing their dynamic expression.

Hansdotter’s practice explores the boundary between craftsmanship and industrial production, where artistic intentions drive technical methods. Her works are represented at the Nationalmuseum, the Swedish Arts Council, and in several private collections. Since 2016, she has also collaborated with Kosta Boda.

During Stockholm Design Week, Hanna will present both art glass and a selection of works she has created for Kosta Boda.

Sekt
Design studio Sekt was founded with the vision of producing quality products locally, sustainably, and without compromise. The brand collaborates with small-scale manufacturers in Sweden and nearby regions, where social and material sustainability is a given. With a passion for craftsmanship and a focus on quality, Sekt creates exclusive, sustainable products with long lifespans. Materials such as solid bronze, mouth-blown glass, steel, and porcelain age beautifully over time and use.

In NK’s windows, Sekt will present a range of unique products that combine craftsmanship, tradition, and contemporary design. Here are the highlights:

Glass Puritan Table Lamp – Maroon: A new color is introduced for the Glass Puritan Lamp: Maroon, a dark reddish-brown opaque glass that glows bright red when the lamp is lit. The glass shade is mouth-blown at Bergdala Glasbruk in Småland, and the lamp is assembled and certified by Eli Gnosjö, with details in brass and Bakelite. This version also features a sand-cast bronze base, manufactured by Rosengrens Konstgjuteri in Vintrie.

Atrum Candleholder and Atrum Floor Candleholder: Hand-forged and oil-burned at Ferrum Smide in Flädie. The floor version of the Atrum will be shown for the very first time.

Trio – Maroon: A new chandelier with three glass shades at different heights, separated by an elegant brass branch.

Isola Coffee Table: A low table with a top of Öland limestone, whose edge is hand-forged for a lively expression. The base is made of solid cherry wood, crafted by Jacaranda Studios in Malmö. This table will also be shown for the first time.

The new products, including the table, floor candleholder, and the Maroon color, will premiere in the window display during Stockholm Design Week 2025.

Madelen Möllard
Madelen Möllard is an artist and designer based in Stockholm. In Madelen’s world, art flows beyond the canvas to become objects to live with. Inspired by her grandfather’s nature paintings and the red rose her mother dedicated to her at birth, she creates works that bring warmth and personality to a room. Twisting and colorful poppies have become one of Madelen’s signature motifs, now taking shape as hybrids between art and interior objects.

Madelen’s designs, from artistic rugs to mirrors, combine color and form in a carefully crafted balance of joy, beauty, and function. Each object is made in Sweden with excellent craftsmanship and carefully selected materials.
