Following the international breakthrough of Cargo, Swedish design brand Mizetto returns to NeoCon in Chicago, June 7–10 2026, with the launch of CUT – a new sculptural solid wood table that a sculptural solid wood table that marks a new architectural chapter for the brand. At the same time, founders Malin and Richard Muskala relocate permanently from Sweden to the U.S., marking a new chapter in the family-owned company’s growing American expansion and evolving vision for contemporary public spaces.

After the global success of its modular sofa Cargo, Swedish design brand Mizetto returns to NeoCon Chicago 2026 with the official launch of CUT – a sculptural solid wood table designed by co-founder Richard Muskala. Presented alongside the acclaimed Enfold seating collection by designer Sami Kallio, the launch reflects a broader evolution of the Mizetto universe: from individual objects to complete spatial experiences shaped by materiality, softness and human interaction.

The launch also marks a deeply personal milestone for founders Malin and Richard Muskala, who together with their family are permanently relocating from Sweden to the U.S. during the summer of 2026, as the company intensifies its long-term investment in what has become Mizetto’s largest and most important market.

“The U.S. has always felt personal to us. We both lived here earlier in life, and in many ways it shaped how we think about ambition, creativity and possibility,” says Malin Muskala, CEO and co-founder of Mizetto. “Returning now – together with our family and with Mizetto at this stage of its journey – feels incredibly meaningful. We want to be close to the conversations, the architecture community, and the people redefining how public spaces are experienced today.”

Founded in Kalmar, Sweden in 2004, Mizetto has evolved from a niche Scandinavian furniture and accessories brand into an internationally recognized design company known for combining playful functionality with architectural clarity.

Over the past few years, the company has established a growing presence in North America through its showroom and warehouse in Chicago, while building strong relationships within the architecture and design community across the U.S. The company’s international breakthrough accelerated during NeoCon 2025 with the launch of Cargo – Mizetto’s first modular sofa and the beginning of an entirely new product category for the brand.

The modular seating system quickly became an international design favorite and has since received several prestigious awards and recognitions, including Best of NeoCon, Interior Design HiP Award and Interior Design Best of Year Award, as well as ELLE Decoration Sweden’s “Furniture of the Year 2026” Award. Now, one year later, Mizetto returns to NeoCon with a more architectural direction through CUT.

A table shaped by nature
Developed in-house, CUT is a solid wood table shaped by the natural geometry of the tree itself. Instead of imposing form onto the material, the design preserves the timber’s original contours, creating a sculptural presence that feels both raw and refined. Crafted from wide FSC-certified wooden planks and manufactured in Sweden, CUT is designed for long-term use across hospitality, workplace, dining and shared public environments.

“The CUT table we have in the kitchen and dining area of our home in Småland, Sweden, is actually the final design that went into production“, says Richard Muskala. “We use it every day with our family, and I think that’s why it feels so natural across different environments. We never wanted it to feel overly corporate or overly domestic. The best spaces today blur those boundaries – and CUT was designed to live comfortably within both worlds.”

While rooted in Scandinavian craftsmanship traditions, CUT introduces a more tactile and expressive dimension to Mizetto’s growing portfolio – one that reflects the company’s ambition to shape entire environments rather than isolated furniture pieces.

A dialogue between wood and soft geometry
At NeoCon 2026, CUT will be presented together with Enfold, the flexible seating collection designed by Sami Kallio. Rather than introducing additional standalone seating products, Mizetto explores how materiality, seating and spatial flow can interact more holistically within public interiors. The pairing creates a dialogue between CUT’s grounded material presence and Enfold’s softer geometry – balancing warmth, flexibility and architectural clarity.

“Today, people expect public spaces to feel more human and emotionally connected,” says Malin Muskala. “What makes CUT interesting to us is its ability to move seamlessly between private and public environments. It has the warmth of a residential piece, but also the architectural presence and durability needed for hospitality and workplace spaces.”

Originally developed as a flexible seating series, Enfold has become one of Mizetto’s most recognized collections thanks to its playful expression and ability to move effortlessly between residential warmth and highly functional public environments.

A more experiential NeoCon presence
At NeoCon 2026, Mizetto’s showroom itself becomes part of the experience. Rather than creating a traditional product exhibition, the brand has designed an immersive environment intended to reflect how people increasingly want to experience public spaces today – as welcoming, emotional and socially engaging settings.

The showroom combines lounge environments, large-scale artworks and curated spatial compositions with a live DJ performance during Monday evening, where music and live saxophone improvisation become part of the atmosphere itself.

For Mizetto’s founders, the installation represents a broader shift in how the company approaches design. Rather than focusing solely on individual products, the ambition is increasingly to create complete spatial experiences that bring together furniture, emotion, interaction and architectural identity.

“We want people to feel something when they enter our spaces,” says Malin Muskala. “Not just observe products, but experience an atmosphere they genuinely want to stay in.”

From Småland, Sweden to the U.S.
For Malin and Richard Muskala, the company’s growing American presence represents something larger than expansion alone. It reflects a long-term commitment to being physically present where contemporary workplace culture, architecture and hospitality design are rapidly evolving.

“There’s an energy in the American design scene that we’re deeply inspired by,” says Richard Muskala. “It moves quickly, but it’s also incredibly open to new ideas and new voices. For a family-driven Scandinavian brand like ours, being present in that environment feels both creatively necessary and personally exciting”.

NeoCon itself has become central to the company’s international journey.

“NeoCon has become much more than a trade fair for us,” says Malin Muskala. “It’s where we’ve built relationships, grown our international community, and seen firsthand how people emotionally connect with our collections. Returning this year with CUT – while also beginning a new chapter in the U.S. – feels symbolic in many ways.”

With production remaining in Sweden and a continued focus on long-term sustainability, modularity and local craftsmanship, Mizetto continues to bridge Scandinavian design culture with a growing global audience – creating furniture and environments designed not only for function, but for emotional connection and human interaction.
