During this year’s Stockholm Design Week, Kord is introduced – a brand-new Swedish design brand aiming to transform the perception of everyday objects. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design traditions, Kord combines groundbreaking functionality with timeless aesthetics.

Kord’s founders, David Lindell and Gustav Rosén, both have extensive backgrounds in business development, design, and product development. They also share a common vision: to challenge expectations and give functional objects a natural place in interior spaces.

– We saw an opportunity to take something as common as power strips and give them a distinct presence and design that feels natural in both homes and other environments. There are few products in this segment that deliver both function and aesthetics – and we wanted to fill that gap. We aim to offer products that are both stylish and practical. Something that blends in, yet stands out, says David Lindell, co-founder of Kord.

Design and technology in harmony
The first products to be launched are Cuboid and Cuboid+, the world’s smallest power strips with three to four outlets and a two-meter cable. Cuboid+ also features two USB-C ports. The asymmetric placement of the outlets is not just a design choice but also the result of technical requirements and the pursuit of creating a compact and visually appealing product. Extensive work has gone into Cuboid, with every detail optimized and designed by Gustav Rosén, known for his ability to balance technical solutions with sophisticated design.

In addition to Cuboid, accessories Hidy and Cumulus Case are also introduced to enhance the design expression. Using built-in magnets, Cuboid seamlessly integrates with Hidy, a cable management solution in the form of a miniature screen wall made of powder-coated, recycled stainless steel. Cumulus Case acts as a shell that transforms Cuboid into a sculptural object. By combining advanced technology with sophisticated design, these accessories further elevate Cuboid from a practical tool to a stylish interior element.

– Cuboid is the result of a holistic understanding of the limits of geometry, technical constraints, functionality, and aesthetics. The asymmetric placement of the outlets gives the product character and originality. At the same time, it is the outcome of technical limitations and the ambition to create a beautiful yet highly compact object. The interaction between form and function brings clarity and purpose to the design. Cuboid is an excellent example of our ambition to merge technology and design in a way that creates value for the user, says Gustav Rosén, designer and co-founder of Kord.

Beyond innovation and design, sustainability is a central part of Kord’s philosophy, permeating everything from product development to material selection. Cuboid is made from 50 percent recycled materials, one of the highest levels in the industry for this type of product. By combining innovative design with sustainable solutions, Kord aims to create products that not only stand the test of time but also contribute to more conscious consumption and reduced environmental impact.

– Cuboid is a design object in its own right and is meant to be used where power is needed without compromising architectural integrity. With its color choices, it confidently takes its place and dares to be seen, says Gustav Rosén.

The launch of Cuboid marks the beginning of Kord’s journey to redefine how functional objects are perceived in modern environments. The brand’s vision is to develop an entire ecosystem of products that offer consumers solutions without compromising aesthetics.

About Kord
Kord is a design brand launched in 2025 with roots in Scandinavian design traditions, where timeless aesthetics, meticulous engineering, and functionality take center stage. Interiors are seen as landscapes – evoking emotions and filling spaces with objects that stimulate the senses. Our ambition is to contribute to this world by redefining what a power strip can be – transforming it from a mere practical tool into a design object. Kord creates unique, bold, and aesthetically appealing products that power homes, offices, and public spaces without compromising the expression of interiors or architecture.
