On February 4, during Stockholm Design Week, our invited international journalists visited Fredrik Nielsen’s glassblowing studio The Garage in Årsta, Stockholm. Nielsen is a groundbreaking Swedish glass artist who redefines the boundaries of traditional glassblowing. Trained at Orrefors in Sweden and Pilchuck Glass School in the USA, Nielsen combines his mastery of the craft with influences from graffiti, music, and pop culture, creating bold, raw expressions that challenge perceptions of the medium. During the event, Fredrik showcased his distinctive glass art and offered the journalists the chance to experience glassblowing first-hand, while also enjoying drinks served in Fredrik’s iconic glass creations.
